Air Compressors - Top Uses for Compressors

Air Compressors - Top Uses for Compressors

The uses for air compressors will depend on where you plan on using them. For basic household needs, you may be able to simply use an inflator, which pumps compressed air into inflatable pools, beach balls, mattresses, or other small items along these lines. However, if you are going to be using your compressor to operate small power tools, then you will want a more high speed model that is capable of providing a higher level of compression and power, although still having the benefit of being small and portable.

For industrial needs, on the other hand, there is a higher need for those types of air compressors that are still portable, so that they can be moved around a job site, but that have the capability to provide a high dosage or blast of compressed air to operate machinery. These will have greater safety hazards and will need a higher degree of instruction to operate as a result. There is also a greater variety of different types of machines that fall into this category, which is well worth thinking about when you are starting your search for the right air compressor.

Air tools will require different levels of air in which to work. For example, nail guns or industrial staplers will only require a small puff of air in order to operate. However, larger, more powerful tools such as sandblasters will need a more continuous stream of air. That is one thing to keep in mind when you are looking at the capacity of various air compressors, depending on what types of tools you anticipate using. The air pressure capacity of each compressor is measured in units of cubic feet per minute, rather than horsepower as many people mistakenly believe is the case.

If you have any doubts about the level of power and size that you need for your home or business projects, then it is a good idea to speak to a consultant about which air compressors could be the best match for you. This will depend on the size of your worksite, what type of projects you will be completing, and how long you will need the compressor for. In some cases, if you only need to power your tools for a single project, then you could consider renting the air compressor rather than purchasing a new model that you may only use one time. In most cases, portability is also an important factor.
